Faux Fur Vest Pictorial

Fuax Fur Vest Pictorial

I had been longing for a faux fur vest, but wasn't willing to pay the price for the big box stores and big brands versions.
Instead I took a thrifted fur coat ( I only use fur that is from thrift stores, the coat I bought was at least from the 90s) and cut off the sleeves to create the look. Be sure to use very sharp and pointed scissors to get the cleanest and sharpest lines.
If your coat has lining, be sure to cut this away before starting in order to insure a clean cut around the shoulders.
If you would like a different look you can use this same concept on a leather or sheepskin coat. Another use for this could be to create a camo or utility vest for a tougher look.
Happy crafting!

Moonshine

Kelen Cote of Gypsy Cote and I styled each other for this post. We've been friends for years and have always differed in tastes and styles, she is more put together and edgy with dark colors, while I tend to stay comfortable with loose chiffon and boyfriend jeans. She and I enjoy thrifting together and headed over to our local Buffalo Exchange to pick up a few items, we both ended up leaving with some great pieces. I styled in her some of my current obsessions: stripes, faux fur vests, rolled hem jeans, clogs, red lips and long lashes.
